What we do

Parent Support Advisers (PSAs) are there to work together with parents to help your child get the very best from his or her time at school. This can be by providing support, advice and information. This means that no question is too big or too small and although we may not have the answers, we will try and find someone who does. If you are concerned that there might be something preventing your child from getting the most out of their time at school, feel free to contact a PSA and have a chat about it.

A PSA works closely with parents in partnership with schools and organisations to support families and are available to work together with parents and carers to help their children get the most out of their learning.

PSAs can also help parents to feel comfortable about coming into school and participating in their children's learning. If you would like to find out how you can best support your child's learning, PSAs have information on family learning activities and courses as well as parenting groups running in your area.

PSAs are also involved in holiday activities offered through extended services and other providers. Just give us a quick call or check our activities page on this website to find out what is happening in your area. There are a number of free or low cost activities that we could suggest.

Parent Support Advisers offer:
  • One-to-one support
  • Listen to you and offer support and advice
  • Provide information about other relevant services in the area
  • Offer opportunities to attend parenting groups and to learn together.
